Yes, I upcycle—as best as I can.
But, today I am pleased as punch to introduce you to someone
who puts my meager efforts to shame.
Meet Kim Borchet, otherwise known as Prairie Mama.

I first heard of Kim via Adventures in Babywearing
and just SWOONED over her green creations<3
After contacting her and learning a bit more about her craft,
you just have to see the amazing things she created for us—
out of 3 of my old t-shirts and 1 shrunken cashmere sweater;)

May I present, fabulousness:

You have to keep in mind that Kim made these out of my old clothes.
As in the things, once outgrown or stained,
you would normally donate or throw out.

I was, and am, amazed.

For the three t-shirts that I sent her (old, very loved offerings from Threadless),
she was able to create three of the cutest
tie shoulder twirly dresses ever.
I love that Pixie is able to already wear things of mine
and it completely makes me feel like I have a “mini-me”:)

From the cashmere sweater I sent,
Kim was able to make a little tunic top
(with pockets!) and the softest little leggings imaginable.
It was lovely to see what can be created from things I could no longer use
—and now am able to hand-down in the sweetest way possible.
Shopping at Kim’s Etsy site, Prairie Mama,
would be the perfect way to give a sweetly sentimental gift to a Mama you know.

So the next time you are cleaning out your closet–
or a preggo friend bemoans not being able to wear a special tee anymore—
remember a gorgeous little outfit for a small someone is just a click away:)
